What is the Political Courage Test?

Washington Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Even the pope allows abortion in the case of ectopic pregnancy. Women are sensitive to moral issues. They are the best judge. Adultery is unethical, but we no longer have laws against adultery. Sometimes abortion too is unethical, but like adultery it should not be made illegal. Reduce the number of abortions by teaching contraception, stressing that boys and men must take responsibility, use prophylactics and foam and just not have sex when the female is ovulating. Adoption is a good way to reduce the number of abortions, and I mean adoption of both the mother and child.
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
I support raising taxes but only on the top 10% of earners. This is the best country in the world in which to get rich. Our bridges are falling down. We are not housing the homeless nor feeding the hungry nor educating our children. The poor cannot pay more. The middle class cannot pay more. Only the rich can pay more, and they should. Cutting taxes on the rich as Trump has done when the economy is roaring is economic stupidity. We should run a surplus to cool off the economy, run a deficit during recessions.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Corporations are not people. Corporations have limited liability. They have eternal life. They should not be allowed to contribute. PACs should be disallowed. Unions are corporations. Only people should be allowed to contribute. There should be contribution limits.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Raise taxes on the rich. Enter into treaties with other nations so that corporations are taxed the same around the world. Share a portion of federal tax revenues with states as does Canada so states can keep going during recessions. Oil and mining companies should not be allowed to take depreciation allowances and effectively pay no taxes. Close the loopholes. We are decapitalizing our country and that is not smart capitalism.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Ditch Common Core. States retain jurisdiction over education and health care. The federal government can only offer grants as incentives and states can refuse the grants. States should experiment with different educational standards, and states would learn from each other.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I run as a Green who supports ethical private enterprise. States can require that corporations adopt codes of ethics or lose their corporate shield against individual liability on the part of shareholders. All new oil company capital should go into building solar, wind, wave, and tidal. We should STOP DRILLING NOW. The $8 billion that Shell spent exploring in the Chukchi Sea would build enough solar to power 230,000 homes. Use solar to produce electricity and hydrogen to power everything.
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
An originalist approach to the Second Amendment would say we have the right to own a single shot, muzzle loading gun. The Second Amendment only prevails to arming state militias and is obsolete. We have the right to own guns to defend ourselves, but that right does not derive from the Second Amendment. There are rights other than those enumerated in the Constitution and the right of self defense is a right. However, governments, state and federal, retain the right to enact reasonable regulations to prevent violent and crazy people from buying guns.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Obamacare is a defective law but is was an improvement. It gives Big Pharma a blank check. I oppose direct advertisement of Big Pharma drugs. Obamacare fully funds vaccination with the many vaccines which are unsafe and ineffective. See www.jamesrobertdeal.org/attorneys-viewpoint-vaccinations. Obamacare fails to focus on prevention of disease. Obamacare supports fluoridation. It fails to encourage health through eating more vegetables and less animal products. Alternative healing by naturopaths, chiropractors, and eastern medical providers should be included in coverage. Basic dental care should be covered. I support requiring insurance companies to cover preexisting conditions. I support Medicare for All.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
A wall is static. People can go over, around, under it. A wall prevents animal and human movement. Drone and other high tech surveillance is a better way to identify and stop illegal immigrants. The best way to reduce immigration from Mexico and Central America is to help their economies. Cheap, subsidized corn and soy from the US make it hard for small farmers to farm, so they come north to earn money. Likewise, we deported drug criminals back to Central America, resulting in criminal gangs taking over.
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
Marijuana is non-toxic, less toxic than alcohol, and causes fewer problems and no car accidents. Most recreational drugs should be legalized and sold in state stores, with profits used to provide immediate addition treatment. Such a policy would raise needed revenues and diminish organized crime.
No Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
The Middle East is a dangerous place. The US should promote a grand settlement in the Middle East between Sunnis and Shiites, between Israel and Iran and Syria, between Moslems, Palestinians, and Israelis, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and ISIS.
See www.JamesRobertDeal.org/Platform. Listen to audio and video recordings at www.JamesRobertDeal.org/Radio. We must stop smart meters and 5G. We are being over-radiated. See www.JamesRobertDeal.org/Smart-Meters. We can eliminate traffic congestion, reduce fuel consumption, and make it possible to get around without owning a car. See www.JamesRobertDeal.org/Door-To-Door-Transit. We should ban carcinogenic Roundup and become an organic nation. See www.JamesRobertDeal.org/Organic. We must end fluoridation, fluoride toothpaste, and fluoride in dental practice. All of these are profitable frauds. See www.Fluoride-Class-Action.com/Safewater. We must bar lobbyists from contributing to politicians and connecting politicians up with donations. The revolving door must be closed. www.JamesRobertDeal.org/election-and-campaign-finance-reform
